Game Servers Support / Unclear if server management is enough
« on: November 15, 2017, 07:50:42 am »
Hi,

So I'm researching hosters for my client who is starting a new business & will eventually have a lot of images, some videos & we hope a good 10-30k traffic per month (eventually.)
My experience is with shared & one recent terrible experience with a VPS I still haven't reviewed.
I assume I have to research dedicated for him, but I got side tracked learning about server management which I didn't know anything about.

Thanks!

Development & Chatter / How to check my hosting speed?
« on: November 15, 2017, 07:49:12 am »
I am using VPS hosting but in planning to move to a dedicated server, the problem is i don't know the dedicated server will be more faster than my current VPS or not. Is there a way to test and comparing the speed between them?

Thanks!

The need of Web Based CRM Solutions is increasing in priority for every organization. Mainly initiated by the need of retaining the customers. Customers stand at the heart of every small and midsize business. To achieve success, every business must know how to successfully manage its customers. There are many Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software options out there, and it can be challenging to sort through them. To solve small and midsize business challenges in a way that s second to none, a company has to be willing to do things differently.

UD Radio Forum / Future of cloud hosting??
« on: November 15, 2017, 07:42:11 am »
Cloud hosting and computing are rather old concepts. However, now people are more interested in shifting towards cloud hosting. My question is: whether cloud hosting will be able to take place of traditional hosting solutions like shared, dedicated hosting etc?

Thanks!

Hosting and Services / Modded and server hosting
« on: November 13, 2017, 12:51:24 pm »
The game has been released i've been playing it on official, achieved everything and for the new update it's like 1 week grinding and we got the volcano cave done I think. I'm not sick of this game but i'm bored on official and i'm looking for something new so got some questions about dedicated.
How do i host my own dedicated server? Did some research and found out that pc can easy rend a server and host and play on there. However is this possible for Xbox One? I don't mind paying for the server hosting as long as I can get it online and my friends can play on it even when i'm online!

Clan Matches / Decent looking game server panel
« on: November 13, 2017, 12:50:30 pm »
Hello Guys,

I was wondering if there is any decent looking game server panel to manage game servers.
For example TCadmin and GameCP are looking like they have been living in a cave for 25 years.
It's simply to ugly to use for a company, does anyone have an alternative that looks better?

Thanks!

Game Servers Support / game hosting on external servers
« on: November 13, 2017, 12:49:34 pm »
Hey,

Basically lag is created by 3 factors.
1. distance (IRL) between host and players, greater distance and or more dns lookups is more latency.
2. the processing power of the host's pc, because the game is hosted on his pc, it has to do double the processing work, and double the network usage.
3. i am not entirely sure how the game works to send, receive and process data from the host, but it seems that, whenever data is send from the host to the players, it waits for the players to send the host a confirmation that it received the data. (I believe this is what causes they game and or units to stutter .

UD Radio Forum / Making a website into a dedicated server
« on: November 13, 2017, 12:48:21 pm »
What I would like to do is turn a website I have into a dedicated server for FTB Infinity. I have a website hosted on HostGator and I feel like I can make a better use of it by turning it into a server. I want to be able to type in to my direct connect on minecraft it connects me to my own server. The reason why I would rather not do it locally is because if I run it on the same computer I'm playing on, I get about 10fps. I've tried installing the server on another computer but all I have is Macs and that seems like a bit of a difficult process. I'm sure there is a way but I have not found anything that works so far.

Reseller web hosting providers may host outstanding windows based applications that may help the clients to a great extent. Reseller web hosting providers come up with different contracts and agreements. This type of web hosting services allows you to start an Internet-based business of your own without the hassles of managing and maintaining your own equipment.

« on: November 11, 2017, 09:55:03 am »
Hey everyone!

I am trying to determine what the community values most when deciding to buy a dedicated server. Currently, our company prides ourself on our Managed Hosting, and we are targeting a client base that values customer service over price.
I created a list below of some things that I feel are important when buying a dedicated server, please let me know what is the most important to you.

Clan Matches / Good VPS for CPU benchmarking purpose?
« on: November 11, 2017, 09:53:47 am »
I would like to benchmark performance of a few different algorithms in terms of CPU usage and I would like to do this on a VPS. It looks like most VPS does not care much about keeping CPU frequency at a constant level (e.g., disabling turbo). Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks!

UD Radio Forum / Getting Reliable VPS Benchmarking Numbers?
« on: November 11, 2017, 09:53:04 am »
Check out these benchmark results for Vultr VPS followed by RamNode. If you notice the FreeVPS script is showing Disk Speed Average I/O for Vultr at 364 MB/s and for RamNode 661 MB/S - this seems about right for what I observed the time it took the Ramnode VPS to create the 15G of test files, it was approaching twice as fast.

computer gamers will be matched up with council users (xbox/ps3 gamers). I think that's pretty neat, what are your opinions?
Apparently, there will be two types of servers: Valve will host the servers that matches players up with council gamers. And there will be another set of game server files for people who want to host PC to PC.

Clan Matches / Dedicated server
« on: November 10, 2017, 06:10:54 am »
I have a rather low budget, since I'm only looking to host a few servers, but this is basically what I'm looking for.
a dedicated/vds server that can hold around 6 servers. I've recently been with NFO as a managed VDS, and I'm looking to order another dedicated/vds that has a panel with it, because I'm clueless when it comes to installing them.
I may just stay with NFO, because it seems like my best option for now, just looking to see if there's anything cheaper/better for a similar price.

Development & Chatter / Advise on optimal HD setup

I have a few older servers that I was planning to send out to a data center soon, but with power costs and games being a more demanding task, I am re-thinking my hardware strategy. Especially after digesting some of the great feedback that everyones provided.
