I'm surprised MS still haven't included those DLLs with Vista considering how many programs/games etc require them. Anyway I'll add a link to the dllfiles.rar that is needed for SLADE too.

  • Redo lump area stuff (common controls like save changes, restore, etc)
  • clean up for linux/unicode
  • Improve map viewer
  • View more lump types: * VERTEXES, LINEDEFS, SIDEDEFS, SECTORS, THINGS, PLAYPAL, DEMO* ...
  • ZDoom fonts handling
  • Hex dump
  • Wad merging
  • statusbar, midscreen and crosshair lines on weapon offset view
  • search/replace in text editor
  • more music/sound format support
  • 'Remove unused textures' feature (or maybe just a 'clean wad' feature in general)
  • Tall sprites/doomgfx support
  • Gfx conversion transparency options
  • Move resources to pk3
  • Figure out better way to handle lump type detection (images especially)
  • Option not to show save dialog on export (or show only once)

What I said is exactly right. lights.wad contains the DOOMDEFS/HTICDEFS/HEXNDEFS from zdoomgl.wad, which is all you need. If you want lights.wad to be automatically loaded, create a folder called 'skins' in your gzdoom folder, and put lights.wad there.

I dunno where you got those ini files from, but they were for the old old ZDoomGL by Kokak, and won't work with GZDoom.

here's a hint: SLADE, although an excellent editor, in its current state is not user-friendly for newbies.

How is it not user friendly? :P Apart from being kinda unstable heh. Hopefully SLADE 2.0 fixes that.

Actually the zdoomgl forums have had pretty much no activity for a long time now. Although recently timmie posted at the zdoomgl dev forums about progress with zdoomgl v2, so it might come to life again eventually :P
