Support for using directory as PK3
« on: February 04, 2012, 12:24:12 pm »
I'm requesting that SLADE get support for loading a directory tree for use like a PK3.

This is useful for those of us who use SVN for our projects, where the folder structure is like that of a PK3, with entries, but only becomes compiled into a true PK3 for releases.

I hope this is a good enough description...

EDIT: Anyone home? The reason I ask for this, is because there lacks ANY Lump editor for editing lumps in a Directory setup, short of opening certain lumps directly like PNGs in GIMP, but, that still makes modders miss out on being able to change offsets and whatnot. To be honest, considering ZDoom can load directories as PK3s, and so can Doom Builder 2, I expected this to be in already since the start, and thought it did only to find out that such a feature is missing.

This has been requested before, and I do want to add something like this, but it's not so simple for me to add with the way things currently are. I'll get to it eventually, though.

Done, so closing this.
